Jihan Basyah
Originally from Oklahoma and raised in Indonesia, Jihan Basyah brings a cross-cultural perspective to her work at the intersection of nature, culture, and holistic well-being. Her personal journey with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and chronic hormonal imbalance has informed a deep respect for the body’s innate intelligence and a recognition that healing often lies beyond the bounds of conventional medicine. Central to her inquiry is the question: How does our relationship to the land reflect our relationship to self? She believes that cultivating self-awareness strengthens our capacity to engage in meaningful, compassionate relationships with others and the world around us.
Jihan is currently pursuing her Master’s at Teachers College, Columbia University, where she is a member of the 2024–2025 cohort of the Spirituality Mind Body Institute. Her academic and professional interests center on the role of spirituality in personal and collective transformation. She holds a Health Coaching Certificate from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and serves as Lead Steward at Othership, a wellness studio in New York City known for its immersive sauna, cold plunge, and breath-work experiences that support emotional regulation and somatic integration.
In alignment with her commitment to embodied healing and cultural roots, Jihan plans to complete a yoga teacher training in Indonesia, her ancestral homeland—continuing to weave together tradition, embodiment, and integrative wellness in service of a more conscious and connected world.
