Coach as Citizen Initiative

The Coach as Citizen Initiative is The Coaching Club’s overarching initiative to engage, to serve, and to make a difference in matters of social justice, equity and inclusion. We are proud to partner as volunteers with the following charities and service organizations to make the world a better place.

  • Proyecto Horizonte, the daycare center in Cochabamba, Bolivia serving impoverished children and communities in the outskirts of Cochabamba, Bolivia

  • Anaheim, California High School District, through their mentorship program for high school students

  • Broadway Community, the community service and homeless center which “sets an abundant table, believing that everyone deserves justice, dignity, health, and wholeness."

  • Girls Write Now, the educational and social justice organization that “has been breaking down barriers of gender, race, age, and poverty to mentor and train the next generation of writers and leaders who are impacting businesses, shaping culture, and creating change.”

The Mindset

Coaching is an emergent field of practice and pedagogy. Inherent to coaching philosophy is the idea that the seeds of success — however one defines success — can be found within. Coaching can serve as a method of transportation and inner growth —from point A to point B.

The idea that each person and each collective has deep within them the seeds of their own potential is a mindset transferable across spheres and situations.

Everyone can have a “coach’s mindset” by looking to serve, to find, and to cultivate the potential in others, in themselves, circumstances, and in the community.

For this reason The Coaching Club is proud to introduce the Coach as Citizen Initiative whereby we hope to introduce and advance the philosophy of coaching as an ideal to be aspired to — as citizens, families, schools, and workplaces.
